Sound therapy

Everything is energy.

Sound is a form of energy. It vibrates (at different levels of frequencies) as molecules vibrate and set off a chain reaction of vibrations and frequencies that produce sound waves. The cells within our body, the limbs and then ultimately our body respond to these vibrations.

When a cell or cells in our body are unhealthy, its vibrational frequency becomes out of sync with its healthy state, leading to a state of imbalance and a disrupted state of homeostasis in the physical body. Applying the right frequency of vibration can help the cell to return to a state of health, balance and thus facilitate healing.

Sound not only plays a role in the physical aspects, but also benefits the mental aspects of the human mind. According to Mr S.K. Shahid (Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, Mumbai, India) in his article: “Sound is a vibroacoustic wave with diagnostic and therapeutic potential”, some benefits you may experience (on a physical and mental level) when receiving sound therapy, can include:

– Negative emotions are lessened. Positivity, mindfulness and mental health increase.

– Improvement of circulation of blood flow to body parts.

– Insomnia, headaches and migraines are reduced.

– Lower blood sugar levels, especially in the case of diabetes.

– Improves sleep.

– Joint, muscle and menstrual pains reduced.

– Digestive problems are decreased.

– Lowers risk of heart disease and decreased cholesterol levels.

– Self-healing and immunity boosted.

– Release of possible emotional trauma and problems.

– Right and left-brain synchronization.

– Cognition, memory, and thinking.

– Energy levels and well-being.

– Improving attention span and focus.

– Reduce and relieve stress levels and decrease anxiety.

Considering the extensive research in this field; it’s not difficult to find evidence of sound’s healing capabilities (interestingly that this modality of sound healing has been used for centuries by the Greeks, Egyptians and Tibetans to name a few, but it has only captured the attention of the western medicine industry researchers about 80 years ago..)

Explore the realm of Cymatics to witness how sound and vibration shape perfect geometric patterns, visually representing vibration. Imagine the beautiful shapes that could form within you during sound therapy as our body consist of 70% of water.

And so, sound possesses the power to heal. By using unstructured acoustic sounds (without musical composition), it enhances the right brain, encouraging creativity, intuition, and abstract thinking while allowing the left brain (the analytical and critical thinking part) to rest. Sound therapy can traverse the physical realm and transcend into the subtle, affecting the emotional and mental aspects of our being, as it is in the subtle bodies where the sound does its magic (the subtle bodies manifest in the physical body). It guides us beyond the duality of our material world, leading us to the sacred and connecting us with our unique individual soul, It invites us to surrender and discover boundlessness within ourselves, ultimately leading us to stillness.

Sound therapy can encompass various elements, including sound itself, breathwork (pranayama), physical postures (yogic asanas), energy relaxation, grounding massage, guided visualization, and meditation. Sessions may be conducted on a massage bed or on the studio floor, tailored to the client’s needs and the nature of each session. Typically, sessions last between 90 minutes and 2 hours.

Allowing yourself to experience sound therapy is not a luxury but a gift, a blessing, and a necessity in today’s fast-paced life, where we often feel trapped in the ‘rat race.’

Sound baths

Sound baths take place in a group setting and involve sound to induce a meditative state and promote relaxation and healing.

A sound bath typically involves the use of various sound healing instruments, such as singing bowls, a gong, chimes, and flutes, to create a multi-layered soundscape. Participants lie down or sit comfortably while the sounds wash over them. It is called a “sound bath” because you as the participant are being bathed in a soothing and nourishing auditory experience.

When one wants to deepen one’s practice and you feel ready, I would suggest attending the sound meditation sessions.

Please see below the next sound bath. If you would like to attend, please contact Thomas as booking is essential. Also note that an EFT secures your booking. Packages for sound baths are available.
